Re: Are you going to buy a Sony A7C?

On another note, only %10 of people on FM site have so far indicated they will be buying it. Considering FM is one of the forums where people have been generally positive or neutral about this camera, this may be an indication the camera may not sell well because in some other sites (DPReview, SAR) people have been generally negative about the camera. This is despite the fact, many Youtube camera reviewers (paid Sony artisans?) have been silent about the shortcomings of the camera.

I certainly don't believe in the Sony's marketing bluff: to bring a small ff camera and think masses are going to buy it at an overinflated price tag regardless. This camera is severely crippled down in features. The way, Sony speaks about it, they think they have done a revolutionary job, lol. We are not in 2013 anymore when Sony was the only option for whoever wanted a small ff body (the debut of the A7 series). Now people have options: Canon, Nikon, etc..

At the end of the day, people would compare this camera to other cameras in the same price level or lower. They will then decide whether it's worth paying $1800 for it or there are better alternatives (regarding performance/price ratio). Budget conscious consumers who don't pay much attention to the features (and don't read online forums) yet, want a ff camera would compare this to Canon RP or Nikon Z5 and then, the choice may be obvious. Even if we assume vloggers nowadays constitute a significant market sector, they also have many options to choose from and a $1800 Sony is still far from an obvious choice just because it has got a rotating screen.
