Wait... Does "fully articulated" screen mean that you can't tilt it up without folding it to the side? THAT would certainly be a deal breaker. Can't find any relevant images of it.

Edit: Why would anyone want a large sensor for vlogging?

The bigger question for me is. Why do these camera companies even think "Vlogging" is a big market segment?

Maybe because it is? Do you have other data indicating the size of the vlogging market?

vlogging market is huge and is growing. influencer marketing is a thing now. influencers are constantly trying to stand out by stepping the production value of their content up. just because many of you aren't in the target market and don't understand it doesn't mean it doesnt exist.

I have a couple of friends who are influencers.....they are in the local modelling and acting scene and influencer marketing is a natural progression for them. Anyway its been interesting to see them start to value things like lighting, stabilization, and IQ as a whole. Video with a lot of high ISO noise is amateur looking and they understand that. A lot of these people are photography clients and contacts...basically they hired me on because they have an eye for production quality.

if you are releasing a camera in 2020, then of course it makes sense to market to them.

That said, it doesn't mean that the a7c doesn't have useful applications elsewhere. Many of us want a compact FF and understand that it inevitably comes with compromises. That is what the a7c is.

"vlogging market is huge and is growing." This seems logical to me, and Sony in recent interview said the video market segment is important. But I have not seen any data to confirm. All I think I've seen as of today are numbers that show a sustained, rapidly declining/shrinking camera market overall for some years now.

BTW, I am very interested to hear the Vlogger community's view on the A7c and kit lens. Are there any forums where the Vlogger community posts opinions? Or mostly Instagram, Youtube etc.?

"Who are the Famous Vloggers?
There are a lot of quality YouTubers making some serious money vlogging. Here is the list of 5 vlog superstars who earn their paychecks by order of popularity:

-TheDiamondMinecart – Daniel Middleton is a Minecraft commentator and a reviewer of gameplays videos with 14.4 million subscribers, with the income of $213,000-$2.5 million.
-Roman Atwood – The prankster whose videos got him 10, 152, 692 subscribers and an income of $8 million.

A lot of you here have been supporting the "vlogging" trend without realizing it.

Case in point...a7c is announced, and where do you immediately go to learn more? Sony website? Ads on TV? No...you watch videos from The Northrups, Mark Galer, Kai, etc etc etc. Then you repost them here for us to see. It wasn't an accident that they are releasing videos 2 minutes after the announcement lol.

Companies have realized that its cheaper and they get more penetration by giving influencers stuff for free (or give early access to stuff) than to purchase TV ad spots, or buy web advertisements. Influencers in turn get more views and clicks, and are able to better monetize their channels.

It's interesting to see when a bunch of the people on my IG start simultaneously posting about the same make-up line lol. You know what's up.
