Big, big disappointment. I mean how much money does that really save to make the camera much more usable.

I bet they kept the higher res EVF and sensor for higher up in the line. But I agree—I was hoping for better.

I decided mentally I would even buy it with the crappy (compared to 36, 42, 61mp) 24mp sensor. But not with that EVF. That's my line in the sand. It's too bad. I really like the form factor.

Perhaps Sony thought it wouldn't be wise to offer a higher res. EVF because they still want to sell the A7 III.

Maybe? But I am assuming the A7iii is getting a price reduction anyway once the a7iv comes out. I still think they are hurting themselves here. Unless they are planning a higher res sensor/evf option later. But if that was the case they should just announce it tomorrow to calm the backlash. To me this looks like Sony isn't even sure who their target markets are.

Backlash is coming from high end users...this is not a high end camera. We have plenty of them. This is aimed at the vlogger which does not require the high end viewfinders or sensors. That end of the market, the cameras actual target, is probably rejoicing...not back lashing.

Uh? I see plenty of backlash about the video spec. Not sure what your talking about.

From vloggers or from people comparing it to the A7s3?

I have never in my life met a "vlogger" Chez so how would I know if anyone on Sar is a vlogger. Just read the comments. The point was simply if Sony plans to release a higher spec version (since this is an entry level in a new line) Than they might want to let it be known tomorrow a more expensive version is coming down the pipe that's all. I would expect if the "higher end" version comes with a better res sensor and EVF it would probably have better video specs as well. I personally don't care about the video side. But it would seem to make sense video options would get a bump as well in a more expensive version of the A7c.
