I bet they kept the higher res EVF and sensor for higher up in the line. But I agree—I was hoping for better.
I decided mentally I would even buy it with the crappy (compared to 36, 42, 61mp) 24mp sensor. But not with that EVF. That's my line in the sand. It's too bad. I really like the form factor.
Perhaps Sony thought it wouldn't be wise to offer a higher res. EVF because they still want to sell the A7 III.
Maybe? But I am assuming the A7iii is getting a price reduction anyway once the a7iv comes out. I still think they are hurting themselves here. Unless they are planning a higher res sensor/evf option later. But if that was the case they should just announce it tomorrow to calm the backlash.
