Hellish year and no end in sight. Exactly 5 (or was it 6?) years ago I was at a conference in Portland and visited a relative in the suburbs during the trip. I rained every day, and in fact both times I hiked up Mount Hood to check out the waterfalls. My relative told me in Oregon its the start of the wet season. Well yesterday morning after reading that some of the Portland suburbs were part of the evacuations i checked up on them. They are okay, about 30 miles from any fire danger, just hunkered inside from those high PM 2.5 levels.
