The plot thickens! Going after Fujifilm? Very interesting but not so sure Fujifilm fans will agree

Fujifilm fans are obviously happy with their APS-C sensors, so they will not be tempted by this camera and will level all the usual criticisms of Sony design at this.

This is similar to the Micro 4/3 fans who were happy with their sensors and found other aspects of Sony cameras to criticize.

But for those of us for whom a FF sensor is a killer feature, any perceived advantages of Fujifilm APS-C and micro 4/3 cameras don't tempt us.

I don't know why people get so compartmentalized in one camp or the other. Personally I use a Fuji APS-C system, and a Sony FF (RX1RII) and a Nikon FF DSLR. Each one has its own tradeoffs. If you tell me FF is categorically better than APS-C I would argue against it. If someone says APS-C is all anyone needs and FF is not needed, I would argue against that as well.

I also have different camera brands, but have started to gravitate to only Sony. It's a real pain traveling with two compete lay incompatible systems, really adding weight and bulk. For example, my main camera for travel / cultural photography is the A7R3. I used to have a Fuji camera as my light kit to take out when I'm just kicking about not focused onto photography...but that meant extra lenses, batteries, chargers etc... Now my kick around camera is an A6000 which shares lenses with the A7R3. I'll never again travel with two different camera brands...just too much excess bulk / weight.

Definitely I get that - having a single system for all the various scenarios would be ideal and this new line of sony compact bodies might help achieve that.
