Chandler called me last night to see if I could go to Sulphur Springs with him for a flight lesson. I had a bunch of things that I needed to do today to get ready for a big video production tomorrow so I said I was sorry but couldn't. I thought about it for about five minutes and came to the conclusion that I should do whatever it took to make memories with him today so I called him back and told him to swing by and get me and we'd fly the Cub over. My instincts were spot on, we had a wonderful flight over and back, even if I did get stuck with the bumpiest and the worst wind leg. Chili did his lesson, then we all went to lunch while they changed the oil in my Cub. When we returned his instructor asked if it would be ok if he and Chandler took the Cub for an hour to work on his tailwheel endorsement. Quite a milestone a I told on the grass and watched my Grandson taxi out and take off in 7PC (doesn't stand for politically correct All of our time together in the cub apparently sunk in because Chandler took off and shot a half dozen landings in a pretty brisk 90 degree crosswind. His instructor held both hands up as they went by each time and gave me a double thumbs up. Today was filled with memories that I would have really hated to miss, glad I played hooky..................
