Tamron Zoom Shootout (28-75, 28-200, 35-150 EF, and 70-180)
so the flare/ghosting/sunstar tests were easy enough to post. my conclusion is that they all produce similar sunstars with the 70-180 having the coolest looking at 70mm followed by the 28-75 at 28mm. the 28-200 is pretty ghost/flare resistant with the samples of ghosting/flare posted not that hard to avoid or minimize. the 28-75 is close behind but sliiightly more flare/ghost prone. the 70-180 sliiightly behind that with more detrimental ghosting when it does happen. and the 35-150 is a ghosting machine. it's hard to avoid with sun in frame. the biggest downside to this otherwise remarkable lens... i tested at wide/mid/long focal lengths for each lens and concluded you should just never shoot tele sunstars. just don't do it. I am still undecided on posting the handheld lens stabilization vs IBIS tests...
