So here we are half-way into the not so wonderful year of 2020 and supposedly both the R5 and R6 are about to be officially announced.

Or are they?

We have seen the "pre-announcement" months ago of the R5, so we know it's real and most of the rumored specs have been confirmed.
But what about this mysterious R6 that has everyone scratching their heads over the 20mp sensor on a MILC body in 2020?
We actually don't have ANY confirmed specs or "pre-announcment" of anything related to this rumored body.

How can they release both the R5 and R6 in July with such a drastic difference of confirmed specs of the R5 vs vague rumors of the R6.
If you look at websites such as B&H, they have had the R5 listed for some time now, but not the R6.
Has Canon ever confirmed the existence of the R6 in anyway?

So what's the deal on this R6? Is this thing even real or has the rumor mill simply made it appear that it is? aka "fake news" that eventually becomes looked upon as fact.
If it is real, which I want to think it is, are we simply going to get an official announcement this month but it won't actually be released until Q4 2020? Where as the R5 is officially announced this month and released in July?

Something just doesn't seem right to me. Or perhaps it's just my impatience blurring my vision.

Why couldn't the R6 come out at the same time?
Do you think Canon doesn't have the fire power to launch 2 cameras that share the same platform? My guess, and it's only a guess is that the 6 would have ZERO tech that's not already in the R5 only way dummied down to produce a cheap entry level starter camera just like the 6D did.
ALL the R&D has been done for the R5, it just has to be dummied dowm. Like the 6D it probably has tons of bells and whistles to attract its target market like the 6D did but those are easy, mostly all firmware. It just has to be repackaged!! Should be easy!

I'm not saying they don't have the fire power at all. They've released numerous bodies simultaneously before and I see no reason why they couldn't do now. For all intensive purposes we are led to believe they are going to, but where are the confirmed specs like we have on the R5? Why isn't the R6 listed on retailers websites like the R5 is?

My question is, if the R6 is real where the heck are the confirmed specs at this late in the game. If they are both being released at the same time it just strikes me as very odd that it is so lop-sided. I've never seen this type of roll-out before so it has me questioning the entire thing at this point.

IDK, I guess I'll blame it on my COVID-19 GAS issue.
