I am just learning night time/astro photography and this is the second image I have posted on FM (the other being on the Sony Loxia site). I have watched quite a few videos (and an e-book I have only half read), and when it comes to light painting many people use what I think is a bit of a heavy hand. Granted, for some subjects that OK. For this one, I wanted a more muted approach. I have found that it's hard to have a light, even handed touch when rushing to do these in a single exposure of 15 sec or less.
This is Frank Davey's General Store, Garnet Ghost Town:

I like the pic and it's definitely a moody one. I might have considered doing some light painting to bring out just a little more detail, or perhaps dropping some like in the windows to create a little glow, but that's just me. A scene like this calls for experimentation!
How do you like shooting that 24/2.8 N.C? I've been looking at that, or a 28/2 Nikkor-N to add to my Df Kit.
