Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35/1.4 for Sony E had to wait more than 6 months before I took it out for the first time.I bought it by chance and did not expect too much,as most of reviews were not favourable.Yet,to my astonishment, the lens turned out to be a very pleasing photographic tool.
To me it has two personalities. The first, classic, with pronounced, mostly spherical aberrations, softness, vigneting and barrel distortion shows up clearly at lower apertures. All that "flaws" however could as well be used creatively as lense's assets.
From f8 up the lens behaves like a normal, very good 35mm with nice colour rendition and only farthest corners being always slightly soft.
It's funky bokeh in floral close up pictures wide open was an unexpected fun.
In short- another solid, nice, little Voigtlander lens.
