Japan was punished severely for it's mistakes, which in my personal opinion they deserved, since then they have been good about being part of a fair global community.
I love Japan and I understand that we can't hold Japan (and Germany) continuously accountable for mistakes.
We should ask other countries to be respectful in the future and avoid those same mistakes?
This is a way to do that.

What about American mistakes? Made currently and in the past?
Are you OK if other countries hold us accountable for overthrowing their governments and banning their religion? Or installing oppressive regimes
First off, I'm not American.
No family in America, so no connection other than I visit for business.
There's no way any American who understands history can say the US hasn't 'made mistakes', but right now they are friendly and aren't causing financial angst to the business I work for, so there's no agenda in response.
It's not personal, it's not even my decision.
