There were supposed to be over 100 WWII war birds of different types flying over Washington DC today, but the event was postponed to September 23rd. They had a similar event five years ago, it was amazing to watch.

I saw the Spitfire in flight for the first time last year at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia, for the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landing. National D-Day Memorial was built in a small town named Bedford, which is in the middle of nowhere. Out of the 34 boys sent from Bedford, 23 lost their lives in the Normandy campaign, 19 of them died on D-Day. It's said to be the highest casualty ratio for any place in the U.S.
