Thanks, at the end of the day I know if I can see it at apertures I normally shoot....that I'm just not going to be able to get past it. So I'm glad I sent it back. The second copy came today, but it's a cold, rainy, and miserable outside. I did some informal handheld testing out my upstairs windows, and it looks close to perfect. Or at least close enough that I believe it's a keeper.
What a relief.
They do say the 3rd time is the charm, I hope it is for you!

Copy two being delivered today. I sort of have dread....which I'm not saying is reasonable. But judging what is acceptable performance vs not, weighing cost of the equipment, is one of the areas that I hate when buying lenses.

It took me two tries to get a nicely centered copy of 14-24. Really happy with it. I wanted to like Sony 12-24 but I went through 4 copies and gave up - all were pretty decentered.
Totally reasonable in my opinion; it's definitely the worst part of buying. I just returned copy two for massive field tilt, and number three will be on its way soon. Not sure how many more times I want to do this.
Good luck to you!
