Good grief, Douglas, ya gotta give me a head's up when you're up this way again. Four hours round trip deserves a hot meal and a night's stay here with us. When "happy days are here again," you, Danbp, and I (and Fred Amico, if we can get him here from LA area) will head to the really good cheese steak emporia in town - on me.

Oh, and as the thread on rangefinder forum announces itself: "Sharpness is a bourgoise concept" (or something like that).

Thank you Anthony! If you ever come down the Baltimore/DC area, I would love to buy you and Dan a dinner to thank you both for your service. BTW, I just finished a book called "Miracle at Midway". It's a very comprehensive record of the battle, at times too many details from both sides. It's a great history book but not one I will likely read again. On the other hand, I have read Eugene Sledge's "With the Old Breed" and "The Last Stand of Fox Company" by Bob Drury and Tom Clavin several times, and will read them again. Hope the Rolling Thunder protest in DC will still take place this year.

Thanks my brother! I will be ready when it happens!!!! My father(Navy) was at Midway, Guadalcanal ( all the Solomon Is) and the S. Pacific for WWII. My mother(Navy) was stationed here at Bethesda Naval Medical Center which is now part of the Walter Reed Medical Complex. They met and got married here. Moved back to Iowa(my dad's home) he finished his degree in Pharmacy(Ph.D) was Steve Allen's roommate for a year, had me and then we moved to central west Iowa.
