God Bless him Tammy!!! Although I know you would rather have him near you, he is in a better place! I am 72 1/2 and have no natural children but 2 step daughters,grown.
My cockers were my children! They all had grave medical issues late in life at 10. When Rocky, my 1st child left, his sister would look out the door for him years after he left. She missed him very much.
The emotional loss on my part is too much so rather than risk leaving them before their time, We choose not to have any more for fear there is no one to take them.
