After dropping off the client at the hotel, I came out to Alabama hills to camp and continue shooting Astro (i left my camera between some boulders shooting timelapse near the campsite). Doing some research for sunrise and with no clouds in the forecast, I decided that we'd head to another place for a sunrise a couple of hours away. I woke up around 3ish and were on the road at 3:30 ...Redbull in the veins...and Dorito flaming hot chips...if you're ever sleepy...try that combo...wowza.
We set up in the dark, only ones there...dead silence other than the hooting of the owl. Slowly the scene came into play...lots of steam from the creek...it was 17 degrees ...waiting...and there it is...
Now the hey Siri part...I took my iPhone out of my pocket and put it on top of the vehicle...even thinking "you're gonna forget it there" ...took the jacket off..put it on the back seat...drive off...few minutes later I hear a somewhat loud thud..."damn that was a big rock"...go on my merry way...end up Bishop...now I can't find my phone...empty the truck...check under the seats, floor mats, camera bag...nothing
Drive back to Hot creek...retrace my steps...like 5 times...walk through puddles that I drove through...walking by the side of the road...yelling into the bushes "HEY SIRI....HEY SIRI" ... I bet the fishermen at the creek were annoyed by now...so if you find an iPhone...gray...iPhone Max something...yeah...contact me.
