For me, there’s something in the color rendering in Capture one that I don’t really like, and I feel that, while the highlight recovery is quite good, the shadow recovery feels a bit unnatural most of the time.
Also, when trying to do some split toning, I feel Lightroom results more natural, even if they’re less sophisticated.
The defaults in Lightroom for Sony are pretty bad, but with my profile I’m liking my results better than what I get with CO, and I find the use of presets in Lightroom more enjoyable, a more smooth experience in this regard, and I have tons of presets (created by myself of downloaded).
But for image quality in my opinion, the best for Sony files is dxo photolab. But it’s slower to use than Lightroom, and way slower to process than both Lightroom and capture one, but to my eyes, it’s the easiest to get nice colors out from Sony.
