1984-2003 Nikon F4s, N90s, F5 had this need to go digital and a canon rep that gave my the final push to:

2003-2008 Canon Digital, 1Ds 1D2, 1Ds2, XTi, 1D3 never felt comfortable with their products ergonomics 3 high end bodies failed.

2008-present D3, D700, D7000, D610, D4, D4s, D7200, D500, D850, Z6 high reliability, familiar ergonomics and continuous service.
