Thanks for sharing this lovely shot. Couple questions for my learning:
1. I'm presuming you were at F8 with the 500PF+TC1.4III combo. How well does D850 tracking work for you at F8 (vs. F5.6)?
2. Have you tried the D500 with this setup? I'm curious if your keeper rate is better with the D850 (vs. D500) for the 500PF+TC1.4III.
Thanks for your comments, yes it was f/8.
Unfortunately both D850 and D500 are poor when it comes to AF at f/8. Here I had no other choice because I was traveling and didn't have my big six, the birds were far and I had to use the TC but I would avoid it where possible. Only the D5 has acceptable focus performance at f/8 (see my review http://arihazeghiphotography.com/blog/nikon-d850-review/)
