It's not consistent though, I think certain lens designs create more dimensionality effect when given the proper lighting and visual cue + focal plane capture. Many Sigma lenses look flat for example but have extraordinary resolution and acuity.
But I've seen photos with subjects "wrapped" perfectly in the focused plane which gives dimensionality effect, so I have no idea. I do feel like Zeiss lenses are easy to magnify the effect in post with little to no effort though. All my Batis' seemed to have it (except the 85 for some reason).
