I held the A7RIV for the first time today at B&H. I assume the A9II if and when released will have a similar body.
Unfortunately, the new body makes no change that I could tell in the space between the grip and the lens. When I put a larger (70-200GM, 100-400GM) on the A9 over the course of several hours I'll wind up with a blister from the rubbing between my middle finger knuckle and the lens. A bandaid is my work around but it's always been one of the most annoying things about the A9 to me. Along with the boxy, uncomfortable vertical grip. And the multi-selector which digs into my thumb after a while but is not a big deal because I rarely have to manually move around the focus point since firmware 5.0.
