The new 200-600 f/5.6-6.3 at 560mm is f/6.3 (2/3 stops faster), so for those using the 100-400 GM mainly with the 1.4x attached, the new 200-600 starts to make sense.

But, for the purpose of packing and travel, particularly when space and weight are an issue by air, the 100-400mm GM has a distinct advantage.
I am going to keep my 100-400mm GM and depending upon the findings by others and if I can afford it, purchase the 200-600mm in the future.
