M42 captured with my Sony and Sigma 105. I set the camera to jpeg and set the picture profile to PP2, this is a custom setting that I have in the camera which does not allow highlights to be blown out so I figured I would try it on the night sky and it actually looks better than a raw image does.
I’m using my new sky-watcher star Adventurer to take these photos and that is a $415 package and it really tracks the night sky extremely well. Very impressed.
