The MC-11 permanently disables IBIS when a Canon IS lens is attached. So, IS lenses can only use the lens IS, and IBIS is only available on lenses with no IS. No matter if you disable the IS in the lens, IBIS can not be enabled when a IS lens is attached. This includes the latest Canon 35 F2 "IS" (you don't mention which 35 F2 you are referring to).

cgarcia,

I did not know that the MC-11 disables IBIS for an IS lenses. Can you post the reference?

Thanks.

The IBIS setting is OFF and greyed out whenever any of my Canon IS lenses (35 F2, 24-70 F4 and 70-200 F4) is attached. I have the latest MC-11 firmware and a recent (v2.0 still as a caution) A7R3 firmware. And of course it is actually disabled (the image jumps when IS is disabled in the lens). I doubt there are official statements about this (theoretically we should use only Sigma lenses with this adapter). And I don't know if this also applies to Sigma lenses (I don't own any stabilized Sigma lens).

My scenario exactly. If I use my canon 10-18mm efs with mc-11 the canon les IS works but my a6500 steadyshot is grayed out and is not functioning.

But when i put on a non-IS lens such as my samyang 12mm manual EF lens then i get steadyshot available in the a6500 menu.

I have most current firmware on mc-11 and a6500

I'm just happy that i could hack the mc-11 to actually use ef-s lenses.

Overall I'm happy with the mc-11. Surprised it actually worked decent with my 100-400 II and 1.4x iii on the a6500. It was just a test..I'm not giving up my 80d or 6dII anytime soon....the A7iii interests me by I get pretty creative with the fully articulating screens the a7iii lacks...and also i'm terrible at taking care of my gear in bad weather/beaches. So far canon weather sealing has been excellent...and I hear negative stuff on the seals on the a7iii. Maybe if it ever gets to cheapo price lol
