The more I use this lens the more I like it.

I used to hold in high esteem the opinions of Chris at DPreview but this lens is IMHO candidate for lens of the year.

I cannot understand why on earth one would even think it could be candidate for worst lens.

I have not seen particular issues with bokeh that I find overall very pleasing. Yes the look of some highlights show some texture that results from the use of aspherical elements but this IMHO less pronounced than on the Otus...

Likewise I have respect for those at DPR but choosing the worst cameras/lenses reeks of stupidity and unnecessary negativity . The products chosen are very debatable and diametrically opposite of many other reviewers!
I have tested the 50/1.8s on the Z7 and I find it an amazing lens as the lens has personality and character ! I will pick up the Z6 and 50/1.8s when timing suits.

Every modern lens now demands uber sharpness and it is finding the balance of smooth bokeh particularly that most lenses now have aspherical elements. Learn your lenses and use them appropriately. If ultra smooth bokeh is more important look at pre aspherical lenses.

It would be interesting to see how DPR reviews the Leica M 50 Lux Asph as this lens is beautifully sharp but the bokeh can also be busy sometimes too.
