I'm just beginning a comparison between the Zeiss ZE 35/2 (recently purchased from Greggf on B&S), against Loxia 35 and Zeiss ZE 25/2 (Canon mount) (also a recent purchase on B&S from Danny Burke).
I've used the same PP on both shots (here, even the exposure is the same), with no profile used, only CA correction. No vignetting was added or removed.
Starting with a later shot between the ZE35 and the L35. As is well known, the Loxia lenses have outstanding sunstars, but it is nice to see how the ZE (and its brother the ZF Nikon mount) compares.
There is a tremendous amount of variation in sunstar shape and prismatic ghosts depending how the sun shines through the leaves and branches. I've chosen example that have "medium" characteristics, not too bright and not too many large ghosts.
I'll try to keep the examples colorful so it doesn't seem like a lesson.
Photos taken at the Thousand Oaks, CA City Hall and grounds.
All images are hand held using two a7R2 bodies, so please don't expect exact registration.
