color science examples, huelight & adobe profiles, fred's calibration

Auto w/b is used for all examples just because it shows that zero time was spent with the image aside from the simple profile/calibration tweaks, and then a simple contrast/clarity adjust in a few.

When I reference the FM color science, it's Fred's calibration arrangement for the A7Riii, which seems to work fine on an A7III as well, at least in my testing. His intention is to bring out "canon-like colors", which some say are more orangey, so it's a taste thing for sure.

FM Color Science:
Profile: Adobe Color. Calibration Pane - change Red Primary: Hue -7, Red Saturation +30, Green Primary: Hue +10, Green Saturation +25
Leave the rest at default. But bump the vibrance up - salt to taste, figure between +10 and +20.
When I have FM color science noted below, my vibrance was set to +12.
-> normally, you should use adobe color for FM color science, but I accidentally used adobe standard for several tests.
you can see that in my notes!!!
so I'm adding #8 and #9 to show FM color science with adobe color

HUELIGHT profiles are simply color profiles, for each camera body, $15 per camera profile. https://www.colorfidelity.com
there may be other proprietary changes he makes to the files, but I assume you can do this yourself by getting the passport color checker or another device.

You may not see any differences. You may not like any of them. You may find an arrangement that appeals to you.
Folks are always asking about huelight, and Fred's color science, so I figured why not.

Keep in mind, there is a lot of green reflection hitting their faces.

I would just look at the baseline and then compare with your favorite, and then look how the image was processed.

Auto removal of CA is applied
and I have enabled profile correction for the glass
LR CC

examples 1 to 9 are a run of family portraits, overcast conditions, about two hours before dusk
examples 10 to 12 are from a proposal, approx two hours before dusk, but in sun, backlit obviously
examples 13 to 16 are from a wedding, very sunny day, 2pm, in the shade from a large building

Cheers

I should do a final example, with a w/b adjustment to my taste, along with my favorite profile/calibration. May do that later. B/C I don't like the w/b in most or all of these.
