Re: Official Z Series Camera and Lens Discussion

In customary fashion, Ming Thein writes well, includes useful details, and maintains a balanced outlook. Some random points that caught my eye: 24-70/4 is excellent (and collapsible), switching between review and LiveView has black-out delays, CIPA battery life is better for his use pattern but it's no DSLR, grip has the pinky problem, controls on a Z7 vertical grip are right out, OLED on top desk, limited readonly for battery status.

In summary, his review and illustrations solidify my intention to skip this generation of Z. It really feels positioned as a prosumer product that looks to counter Sony rather than supplant their D8XX DSLRs—let alone the single-digit line. I really want a bigger body for the grip, controls, and battery options. A slightly smaller Z version of the D3X, please.
