Happy to say the grip is very solid again and the blade is as polished as I would like. Did not want to loose the character and some patina from years of use. To make it mirror would have required grinding and removing material. Did not want to go to that level.
I did go with the mineral oil soak of the stag horn and shims and it did restore them to size, so no additional shims were needed. A lot of polishing with rubbing and polishing compound and once done, I finished the whole knife off with a coat of Renaissance Micro-crystaline wax polish.
Since Nikon released a new video trailer last night featuring the legacy NOCT lens, I got it out for this shot. Will be interesting to see what they announce next week.
