I can attest to the low light challenges of A7R II. It depends on the lens and subject, but I had times of no-chance autofocusing from A7R II before sunrise. It wasn't even close. Very frustrating. Manual focusing wasn't an option because there wasn't enough light to see through the camera. Magnifying a grainy image didn't help either. In same conditions, Canon 5D would have focused.
That's why I would favor A7R III as well, AF in low light, half the batteries needed, and better image quality promised.
