Been thinking about getting myself a cheap (ish), normal (ish) prime for some time now. Need to try my hand at the wide open, focus close, blurred background thing. Oh, and Jeff just reminded me how good that can look in Mono. Now, all I need is the lens and some talent. Do we have an app for that?

Are you thinking a 50 or like an 85 for portraiture? They aren't normal or cheap usually, but an 85/1.4 is a wonderful lens for the effect that you are looking for.
