Not too sure about the FE 24-105G...yet. It feels harsh but could be just the lighting. Also the first portrait marginally missed the near eye focus. The 24-105 is a very difficult optic to design as it encompasses a wide FL range.
I pre-ordered the 24-105/4 G. I'm sure it willl have compromises in terms of distortion, vignetting and rendering but I'm hopeful Sony was able to keep resolution high enough for most of the range. I see sharp jpeg samples available right now even for the long range.
I was very surprised by how well the 12-24/4 G performs and is a good sign.
Are there RAWs available for download?
I agree the 24-105G is a must have lens. I have not seen any RAW's yet. The size/weight is similar to other FF offerings.
The 12-24/4 G is excellent is an excellent lens and really fits in the philosophy of keeping the size/weight down as a package. The 16-35/2.8 GM looks to be very compelling
