John, I sincerely hope you continue to have success in cold conditions. Also, cold is not so much a problem for some, such as in the UK, as for others like me who spend a lot of time in real cold in the Adirondack Mountains. Ice is my favorite subject of all. For me, cold weather performance is absolutely a must. There are so many reports of A7RIIs failing below 0C that I just cannot risk it. Some of the reports I think may be due to the tiny battery, and error messages because of lack of adequate power. SONY recommends not using the camera below 0C. The D750 is absolutely reliable below -10C. I will probably test it to even colder temps this winter. All my Nikons have been supremely reliable in very cold temps. The venerable FM worked perfectly down to -30C. Of course, that camera didn't require batteries! Imagine!
