Re: 1DX II Sensor issues

My guess is that the claims from Canon of users damaging the sensor themselves and charging them for a replacement, might actually be them noticing the brush stroke patterns, don't you think?

Nothing would surprise me. Like I said earlier in the thread, leaked documents from a few years back showed that Canon knew of defects in the original 1DX and the 24-70mm f/2.8L II and still chose to charge customers for repairs unless they noticed the defect.

I e-mailed Arthur Morris yesterday. He said I could post his response:

Artie:
I am at the last stop with Canon. If they refuse to replace it — they already replaced the sensor “free of charge” — I will either need to take them to small claims court or try to get B&H to replace it (and hopefully bust their balls).

Read everything below and take note of oil spot #3 below, after only 119 image on the new sensor.

with love, artie

ps: feel free to quote me.

pps: be prepared for more of the same.

Arthur also sent me an exchange he's has had with a Canon 'Executive Response' representative, where the rep. indicated that she was in the process of reviewing the situation with management:

Good afternoon Mr. Morris,

I wanted to let you know that I did your pictures and am currently in the process of reviewing the situation with management. I’ll be following up with you shortly once that review’s finished.

I'm in the process of collecting all the RAW files from the different people who have been kind enough to submit them to this thread. Tomorrow I'll be contacting CPS and see if I can send them all over. I also have the good mind to send this thread and the pictures to Artie's 'executive response' rep. too.
