For A Bokeh whore like me, absolutely. The 3D effect you get for a 50ish lens is ridiculous.
I have read a tons of reviews saying that this lens is muddy and not sharp at all before buying it, but, you can pixel peep my pictures in Flickr if you want, the lens wide open is sharp enough you can count the eye lashes in a portrait...What do you need more? Having the spots on the skin models? haha
You absolutely can't give your opinion on a lens by shooting targets only...Who even shoot targets apart from calibrating lenses and body?
Go out and start taking pictures. This lens will tell you a story...
