Yes, I wish it was easier but its an 8 hour hike with about 6,000 feet of gain. Absolutely gorgeous though when you arrive.I try to go every year and at 51, its a love hate relationship with that trail. Since the camera gear weighs what it does, everything else has to be as light as possible. This year my pack was about 32 lbs. We camped near Leprechaun Lake and discovered it was about 20 degrees F at night with 20-30mph winds. I had a double walled tent, the warmest sleeping pad made, Mountain Hardwear Phantom 0 degrees F bag and slept in my Arcteryx Cerium SV expedtion parka and felt mostly warm.
