Surely the OSS of the 100mm-400mm is a greater advantage than the Zeiss sharpness at 200mm no? Real potential to leave the tripod at home if you can get 3-4 stops out of the OSS.

I've seen mentioned that this lens' OSS is capable of 5-stops but can't find this info in any official Sony page. Even if it's true, it won't be for all focal lengths. With the Zeiss 100-300, you can still manually choose the FL for IBIS. I have not tested if the stabilization between these two lenses is comparable.

Yeah, I could see 5 stops based on the OSS systems they've used in other lenses, but that would likely only be at 400mm and probably only about 1 out of 10 handheld shots. I would expect around 2/3 stop advantage at 100mm and 1 2/3 stop advantage over the OSS over the IBIS. I just pulled that out of my butt based on my previous experiences, and I wouldn't be to surprised if there was indeed an occasional blurry edge due to the OSS.
