Final numbers posted. Basically the same performance as the old 6D.

You were quick to notice that.

More later ... still crunching data ...
... From a released production model or from another pre-production model?
As far as I know a "production" camera, as was the other.
In any case, in my 10 years of testing this has not once made a difference.
I can't possibly imagine that Canon would not have cameras on hand a month before shipping that are complete 100% in hardware and mostly in firmware. I'm pretty certain it would be near impossible to go from "still trying to figure out the sensor design" to "shipping to customers" in such a short period of time. Nor would I expect them to just grab an old prototype out of the trash bin and send it out to reviewers.
I think many people just assumed Canon would make the DR better on the 6D2 and are holding out any hope they can get that it will still be better despite the evidence so far. Maybe Canon isn't able to make their dual pixel, on-chip ADC FF sensors cheap enough to fit into the 6D price range.
It just seems so weird to see the 6D2 perform like such a different sensor (i.e. the stairstep where higher ISO has more DR than than a lower ISO) from the likes of the 80D / 5D4 / 1DX2 ... yet, be of the same sensor family.
