I feel your pain.....
After my upgrade from D700 to D800E I was no longer able to nail the focus with my MF-lenses and after a while I sold almost my whole collection of AI-S lenses (almost all where chipped with the Dandelion chip).
My MFGN addiction came back and in full force......
I didn't want to do the same thing again and found the scalloped lenses.
I now have 14 multicoated lenses from 1971-1974, 16 Nippon Kogaku Nikkor lenses from 1963-1971 with mm-scale and 7 NPN lenses from 1959-1963 with cm-scale.
Only the 55/3.5 PC is not scalloped.
I should make a new image of the multicoated as this is not the whole collection, but I'll wait when my 55/1.2 SC and 28/3.5 NC are back from chipping. :_)
Wait until Rafael chimes in; he's the real master.
