An exploding cluster of day old, tiny, baby European Garden Spiders (Araneus diadematus) greeted me on the wall by my back door the other evening. To get an idea of scale the macro pictures are approximately the equivalent of 1 inch square. The lighter layer seen in the first picture is the mortar between bricks.
