Re: Pre-order: Fujifilm GFX 50S Medium Format body ($6,499)
I'll also shoot some GFX-equivalent stitches (using an A7, which is close to the same pixel pitch) with the C/Y PC-Distagon and post them for the group. I did some the other day (comparing two samples of this lens) out to 61mm image circle diameter but I did it with a +/- 10mm horizontal shift, so those images are wide pianos and not in the GFX aspect ratio. They pretty much match the published MTF curves.

Yes, the MTF charts makes the CY 35 1.4 a no-go candidate. Actually the prospects for corner sharpness are slim for all classical Distagons, both the CY and ZF/ZF line. ...
OTOH, MTF curves for the Contax PC-Distagon 35/2.8 CY look a bit better...
The first image below compares Zeiss MTF curves for the PC-Distagon (top) and the CZ 35/2 ZE (bottom), with the curves for the PC-Distagon truncated at the 22mm FF corner radius.
The second image below shows the full MTF curve for the PC-Distagon, with vertical lines drawn at the 22mm radius (grey line), and at the 27.4mm radius (red line). The 22mm radius corresponds to both the FF corner and GFX 50S edge, and the 27.4mm radius is at the GFX 50S corner.
I plan to compare the PC-Distagon and 35/2 ZE on FF, hopefully starting next week.
