Re: Pre-order: Fujifilm GFX 50S Medium Format body ($6,499)

This afternoon I visited my friend Ryan at DigiDirect in Brisbane and had a chance to play with the GFX and 63mm lens for about 1 hour.

The GFX feels surprisingly small and light with the 63mm without the EVF. Size and feel I would compare it with the Nikon D750. Ergonomically it is superb and taking shots it just flows. Of course I have the XT2 bodies so it is a natural extension of what I am accustomed to. The AF AF-S is very fast and accurate and you have the full screen to move the AF point around to. I did not test the AF-C as there was not enough time.

Personally within this short period of time I fell in love with this camera !!! For me it is a must have. I would be very happy just to have the GFX body without the EVF and just the 63mm lens. This is easy for choice, as I prefer the 50mm FL. The lens rendering feels very much like the 50 Cron Asph. To be honest I would love to take the GFX/63mm for street portraits as it feels a very "cool" camera to approach people. My other favourite was the M240 50 Lux/50 Noct f/1.0.

This is the STD Jpeg profile, but for portraits I prefer the look of the Chrome as the colours are more subtle.

I have both RAW and Jpegs, so I am waiting for an update in either Lr/PS or C1Pro to push the RAW files.

Some test shots inside and outside the store with Jpegs.
