+1 @ Chez, etc. ... not overly impressed by sample images so far. But, I don't hold too much value in them yet since I figure that goes mostly to Fuji profiles that lean toward Velvia-like pushing of historical Fuji popularity (self included back in the day), which you wouldn't be using anyway for smoother tonality purposes.

I suspect the real value will harken to what folks can do with the maleability of the file combined with the more relaxed optical projection than Fuji's APS-C glass. I know the tonal gradations of 14MP cameras (i.e. larger pixels) have some qualities to them that has an appeal for some. My .02 @ the Fuji would be to more "large pixel - like" tonality, yet still have plenty of pixels to play with (conceptual, anyway).

While IQ is always pertinent, handling may prove to be of greater value for some folks than a +/-1/3 stop of DR, today or tomorrow. I know I stood pat on my SLR/C for many years while the DR race waged on. For some, DR is their holy grail to all things photographic ... for others, not so much. The latter group isn't looking to the GFX with much worry about the next gen of sensors.

I mean, seriously ... until someone comes out with a quantum leap of technology that makes a 2-3 stop jump, it keeps being incremental improvements over time. I won't be worried about Sony's next sensor as part of my determination to whether or not the GFX is a tool I want. I think there are other aspects of consideration that are much more poignant than yet another quibble about the DR races of the future.

Waiting and watching along with everyone else @ we'll have to wait and see.
