You do realise that an H series lens with adapter will be SIGNIFICANTLY longer than an XCD lens? What\'s the point of purposely creating an SL style weight and size mismatch?

I\'d like to put a little input into this thread for those of you considering this camera. I went to the Photo Plus Expo in NYC last Saturday and had hands on with the following:
Hasselblad X1D regular and 4116 edition.
Hasseblad 30, 45, and 90mm lenses.
Zeiss for Otus/Loxia testing.
Leica SL.
I currently shoot with an A7, A6000, A77. With the release of the X1D I\'m completely rethinking my gear lay out. I shoot primarily with my Batis 25mm and 85mm and absolutely adore them both. I don\'t think I will get rid of them even if I purchase this new system.
That said here is my personal take. I gave the SL a try and although blown away by the viewfinder I can not give in to a $13,000 price tag (SL + 50mm 1.4) just to have an amazing viewfinder experience. In the end you\'re left with the image you\'ve shot and I want something more than 35mm and 24mp which I already have and am already very satisfied with--my A7, at 1/7th the price for the body alone.
So now I\'m looking at the Hasselblad and originally before hands on from images alone the 90mm was my main interest. I still think I would like it but after trying all three lenses very briefly the field of view of the 45mm which is translated to ~35mm full frame was the one I actually liked best. The 30mm as well was a very nice wide angle view and I\'d love to get some architecture/landscape shots in with that.
I do not know if it was mentioned but in talking with Hasselblad reps 5 new X1D specific lenses are coming out 2017. Based upon that information I\'m leaning towards the 45mm as my first lens of choice in hopes that a 100mm 2.2-ish lens comes out in a native form.
In playing with the system for quite a while I noticed a few things, some pros and some cons:
*The feel in hand is absolutely amazing. I love the clean feel and design.
*The firmware clearly was not finalized with a few small glitches here and there.
*I really wish the screen tilted thus giving the ability to shoot looking down into the viewfinder style as I do on my A7.
*The viewfinder itself was on par with an A7 which is fine by me. Do I wish it was like the SL viewfinder? Yes. Am I offput to the point of not buying it? No. The finalized version will have the ability to change the contrast/brightness/etc from what I\'ve read.
*The camera does get toasty as the heat radiates out from the chip into the solid body. This doesn\'t bother me but maybe it will bother you. Maybe it won\'t be like that in final production.
All in all I have been sold on mirrorless since day 1 when it was announced. I thought to myself \"man it would be great if they did full frame one day!\" and then once that came out \"It would be AMAZING if medium format would be developed.\" Well it has and it is here and I\'m ready for it.
I am personally waiting until new years to put my order in as I am not in a rush and I\'d like to hear a little feedback from the first full production models but right now I am just trying to decide which body I want... black or silver!
Thanks for the report. I still have my order in and I have picked up some other HC lenses while I am waiting. I am very intrigued by the 5 new lenses that will be coming. The one I would most want is something like a 135 f/2.8 if it is substantially smaller than the HC 150 f/3.2. I see a four lens kit with the 30, 45, 90, and that 135 as a great all around kit, then I could supplement with HC lenses for special purposes--for landscape the HCD 24 f/4.8, for portraits the HC 100 f/2.2, for long telephoto the HC 300 f/4.5, and for macro the HC 120 f/4. With 5 new lenses, however, some of the those HC lenses might have XCD counterparts.
Well the adapter for HC lenses will have to be 40mm or a little more, so yes it will add quite a bit of length to the HC lenses. This doesn\'t bother me too much. I am not looking for a tiny package as this is quite a bigger sensor. I will be happy with a kit about the size and weight of a DSLR, but that has the sensor with better DR, color depth, and leaf shutter lenses. As a package I will be happy with that. I will keep my Sony A7rII and Leica M lens kit when I want a small (kit and that is a very small kit) for some types of shooting, but I will be happy to have the mini MF system for other types of shooting. I think even if you go with the native lenses, this Hassy system won\'t compete with a small A7r II and Leica M kit. For example the X1D and the XCD 90 f/3.2 would perform a lot like the A7rII and a Leica M 75 f/2.4. The Hassy kit would weigh 1344g and the lens has a 77mm diameter and is 100mm long. The A7rII kit would weigh about 1000g and the lens would have a 55mm diameter and would be 70mm long with the adapter. That is a huge difference in size, so I don\'t think the Hassy kit either with native lenses or adapted lenses can really compete for size.
