Now that I\'m back, I just received the Techart Contax G to NEX AF adapter so I\'ll be testing that out. I updated the firmware. It appears to AF quite well but it\'s also quite noisy.
Any idea how AF with the adapter might be on an A7? I have the G45 and G90, so I was thinking about getting it, but an A7R2 is a bit out of the price range right now. Despite some digging, I couldn\'t find much information about it\'s performance on the A7.
Rich, I have no idea how it would work on the A7 but I would anticipate it to be slower. I would say that this Techart Pro Adapter is good but not as good as the Techart Pro for Leica M to NEX. Maybe it\'s just the noise of the adapter which is almost screeching in nature. So far, I have found it able to focus well even in indoor environments where there is less light but in darker environments, it begins to hunt a bit more.
Hi Rob,
Thanks. Unfortunately the Techart Pro Adapter does not work on the A7r. So, for now and since I am both unwilling and unable to swing an A7rII I will wait probably wait till I get an A7rIII after release to use the Techart Pro Adapter. Also, for work with an A7 series camera with my Cambo Actus camera, Manual focus can only be used with this ser-up. But with the Actus I turn my A7r cameras into mini view cameras. Hope to come back with images this weekend and the following taken with this set-up as well as using the A7r cameras in the usual set-up.

Hi Rich. I\'m not familiar with the Actus Cambo system so I went to their site to explore it. I\'d be interested to hear how and where you sue this system and beyond maybe tilt/shift, what you get out of this system that you can do with traditional camera/lens combo.

Hi Bob,
With my Cambo Actus and my A7r cameras I can use a variety of my Leica R lenses that will offer at least some degree of shift and quite possibly tilt and swing. These include such lenses as my Leica R macro (and many other macro and macro photo lenses) lenses, Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2,Leica R 50mm f2 Summicron, Leica R 35-70mm f4 Vario Elmar lens as well as possibly my Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo Telyt and my Leica R 70-200mm f4 Vario Elmar lens. Additionally, I can use my Leica R 28mm f2.8 Super Angulon PC lens as basically a Tilt and Shift lens. Additionally Canon T/S and Nikon T/S lenses and others can be used as well as Medium format Hasselbald, Mamaiya, etc. lenses, large format and a variety of Enlarger Lenses, particularly the latest Rodenstock Apo Rodagon N and Schneider Kreuznach Apo Componon HM lenses can be used with the camera.
One really usable capability with the Cambo Actus is for the purpose of flat stitching (for large files) which allows for the shift to be done where it should be which is for moving the camera/camera sensor rather than the lens which can introduce all kinds of parallalax. For me, I have a number of Leica R lenses as well as some Large Format lenses to use with my Cambo Actus along with 4 very small, extremely sharp, and extremely light Rodenstock Apo Rodagon N and Schneider Kreuznach lenses that will allow for a lot of shift (used for perspective control as well as for flat stitching at the rear of the camera) and for tilt and swing.
