I was checking this place out and I wasn\'t ready to take more serious photography with my main gear still packed when it poured. And how it poured! There were quite a few hummingbirds flying around there and to my delight, instead of taking shelter, they actually went into the rain. This little guy was perching on a fern frond that swayed back and forth in the wind and it looked like it really enjoyed the shower nature provided. The lens I had, a zoom lens reaching only to 300mm didn\'t feel quite adequate at that time but after looking at the result, I was pleased with the coverage. It shows more of the surrounding, including those big rain drops. I also shot a video clip of the hummer while taking a shower. What a treat it was!
By the time I was ready with my main gear and set everything up on the tripod, the rain stopped . Of course! The second image of that guy after the shower while shaking water off, just like dogs do, and the third image shows that his feather was still wet...
Oh, yes, it was in Costa Rica.
