Re: Gameface media - heads up on getting paid

I’ve shot with GFM for several years and am a team lead. Though I share the same concerns about GFM’s financial situation as others in this thread, I do not share nor subscribe to certain folks’ negativity and unprofessionalism.

As a contractor, I have no more insight to - or influence over - this situation than course shooters.

I was recently paid for all but one of my jobs from last spring/early summer.

I plan on honoring all my contracts.

The sparse communication from GFM Accounting Dept. and executives has indeed been very frustrating. However, Marty and Brent have both remained professional, open and empathetic, in addition to as informative as they can be. I personally do not understand the Marty and Brent bashing here. They have NOTHING to do with ANYTHING on the payroll and/or financial sides of GFM and they are fine young business men (and incredibly talented photographers).

I do hope things continue to turn around for GFM. There are good people out there needing payment. They’re also a fun group and can offer great shooting opportunities. Additionally, I appreciate the emphasis they put on quality photography rather than quantity. And event participants seem to really respond to the ‘free photo’ business model. On that note (and FWIW), despite much research, I’ve yet to find any data that suggests the GFM business model is flawed. So I’m hopeful GFM will get in the black and we can all shoot happily ever after.
