I was amazed how this lens and its VR work on a V1 body for the moon:

V1+ FT1 + TC14EII (280-700/f/8) @ 700mm + tripod with loose head, ISO 200, f/10 at 1/200s VR on.




And one day after:

Moon with a 280-700mm zoom @ 650mm by Jose, on Flickr

@ 650mm + tripod with loose head, ISO 200, f/9 at 1/250s VR on.

Both 60% cropped (6/10Mp). Effectively a 700 x 2.7 = 1890mm telephoto.
