Ecarlino...love your Italy grabs! We were in Sicily 6 yes ago. We stayed in just outside old town Ortigia/ Syracusa. There\'s an outdoor amphitheater in Syracusa that was pretty phenomenal.

thanks!
For those who have never considered Sicily, it is a wonderfully preserved and under-toured island that has enough to see and enjoy (i.e. eat/drink) to merit a month or at least several multi-week visits. Unfortunately, because of the problems in Greece and Northern Africa, a lot of cruise lines are re-routing to Sicily and (at least in Palermo and day-trips from there, e.g. Cefalu) certain places are starting to get crowded. Although, now with the Pound getting DESTROYED, the tourist masses will probably flock to that island for the next year or two. Late May was a great time of year to visit and even Palermo wasn\'t that bad (worst place was Taormina, but that\'s to be expected as it\'s a tourist trap from 10 AM until 5 PM - so that\'s when we were in nearby smaller villages with no tourists).

I\'ve been somewhat reluctant to share any photos, not that they\'re all that great, but i don\'t want to alert others to this wonderfully preserved and under-toured island that has enough to see and enjoy (i.e. eat/drink) to merit a month or at least several multi-week visits.
